I want to move around 200 miles away with my hubby and 2 DC for a better life for my DC
But my mum hates the idea ands says it’s stupid. No point. It’s not a good idea. Constant negativity.
All because she doesn’t want me to take the GC away not because I am going.
We are staying put because it’s easiest option. I don’t like confrontation.
I’m starting to hate her for it.
Don’t know what to do now but it’s getting me down

edit. She is the only grandparent alive. If that makes a difference

Agree. Tell her you are moving, plan for a big visit once or twice a year and regular zoom calls.

You have to live your life
You have to do what’s right for you and your family

Whilst it may be hard for her - she shouldn’t blackmail you into curtailing your life

It's your life, live it. You dont need her permission. Two hundred miles is not that far.
