Which job should I go for?

I’m currently in the running for two roles, no offers as yet but I will be expected to make a decision quickly so need to be absolutely clear what I would do if I received offers for both.

Job 1:
Base £115k, bonus 15%
Pros are good work-life balance, excellent opportunities to raise my profile within industry, study support for a professional qualification which I’m interested in pursuing, probably more time to continue my small side hustle (£3k per annum)
Cons are it’s a small organisation with limited prospects for progression within the organisation

Job 2:
Base £125k, bonus 20%, share option scheme, excellent benefits
Pros are mainly financial, high profile role in big organisation, better career progression (internally or externally)
Cons are it’s a fast-paced and stressful job, with tight deadlines at short notice and less flexibility around when I can take holiday. Would realistically have to drop the side hustle and study.

Job 2 would be amazing to put on my CV but I fear family life will suffer. I have DC 50/50 and whilst they are in secondary school and therefore more independent, I don’t want to come home at 7/8pm or have to work and ignore them when I could be spending some quality time with them. If I was offered Job 2 but not Job 1, I would certainly try to find some way to negotiate flexibility (vs stay in my current role) but it’s all very daunting. I would go for Job 2 in a heartbeat if I had no kids but I want to be present as a parent as much as possible.

What would you do?

Job 1 for life work balance.

you can look for career advancement when your kids is more independent

Job 1

Teens need you more not less as they enter the years of needing crucial guidance

Plus that side hustle of yours - you'd be shelving that too when that's an additional income stream just for you, that you control and can grow seperately.

Just wanted to provide an update on this, thanks to everyone for voting. Job 1 fell through but I accepted the offer for Job 2 (although they offered less than what I had expected) - I guess the decision was made for me!
