Annual leave / work / entitlement

Hi there
please can someone advise, I have gone back to work full time 35 hours I was previously on 37.5 so I have compressed my hours into a 5 day week so I finish earlier on two of the days.
i have tried to book annual leave but have been told I need to use a full day instead of a half day for the Friday where I finish at 12pm please can anyone advise if this is correct?

So are you FT and compressed or are you now 0.93 FTE (35/37.5 hours)?

You should be on hourly based leave not daily to make compressed and/or PT hours work properly with annual leave

As @DappledThings says. Your leave entitlement should be calculated in hours not days if you don't work the same hours every day.

As others have said your leave should be in hours rather than days. Your employer may not have come across this before. Suggest they contact ACAS to get the correct advice.

I'm 0.7FTE. Many in my team work a nine-day fortnight but are FT. If I take leave on a Monday it costs me 4.5 hours. For one of the ones who is FT but compressed it's 8.11 hours. For someone FT and not compressing their hours it's 7.3 hours.

If your organisation hasn't moved you to hourly based you need to go back and explain that they need to.

It might depend on your HR system. Does it ask you to confirm and then show the hours? I.e. it might be set up that a full day is 4 hrs and then a half day is 2 hours.

HR systems can be weird...
