SEN Assistant Interview

Hello, basically just coming for some advice.

I have an interview in less than a week for SEN teaching assistant within an autism unit of a secondary school (Northern Ireland)

just wondering would anyone have some advice on what questions they would possibly ask?

i haven’t done a Job interview in 7 years & my latest job I had just been asked to come for an informal chat with the head of school and asked when I could start which was 1-1 with a child who had challenging behaviour and autism, before that I was working 1-1 with a child at his home who’s parents asked me to look after him (he attended a nursery I worked at before that)

just feel like interviews is a weak point for me & that showing how I work and actually being in a setting shows I know what I’m doing rather than face to face formal taking interviews lol. (If that makes sense)

thanks for anyone who responds.

How did your interview go op? I have an interview at a Sen school this week and really nervous as I've not worked as a teaching assistant before.

There is a really useful resource on the TES website that lists possible questions you may be asked. If you work your way through them and prepare an answer in your head for each of them you'll have very little chance of being put on the spot - the speculative 'what would you do if..?' questions are particularly handy for having a good answer prepared.
