Hello fellow marketers,
I'm reaching out to get some advice. I've been working as a marketing generalist for the last five years. It's taken me a while to figure out where I want to go professionally, but I've landed on wanting to be in digital marketing. I think I'd enjoy the analytics of it, looking at data and the research that goes into SEO and content strategy.
One of my big bug bears about my current situation is what I consider to be a poor salary. I'd like to earn at least 60k in my next position, and then bit by bit be on a career path to earn more. The closer to 100k I can get, the better. I'm based in London.
I havent always worked in marketing. In terms of my academic background, I have a bachelors and masters in chemical engineering, a 2:1 from a red brick uni. I started my career working as a process engineer in the energy industry, where I worked as a process engineer for 7 years, before switching to marketing at the same company.
Hopefully I've given enough information and context. So, fellow digital marketers, two questions:
- Can I make the money I want to if I pursue a digital marketing path?
- What courses should I do to make my cv stand out? Should I do a masters? Are there any other shorter, cheaper and quicker win activities/courses I can do right now?
Thanks!
