Hi 👋 I'm just after a bit of advice I'm currently working 25hrs a week and I'm a single mum of 1 who's 6 I've been offered another job for 20hrs a week in a.school would this affect my universal credit payments? I'm totally confused because some people are saying yes it does affect your payments but then other people say it doesn't 🤔 🤷

You need to make sure you are earning above the AET which is £892 a month.

It is the amount you need to earn to be put in the light touch group and not be pushed to earn more. I believe you need to earn £896 and above for you to be in light touch.

You also need to consider when working in a school whether your earnings will be divided over 12 months thus lowering them even more, or whether you will get no pay in the holidays. If it's the letter then those months they will expect you to look for work.

Surely it's a good thing that you're earning enough for your UC to be reduced? 🤷🏼‍♀️
