Hours to request after mat leave

I am returning to work when my DS is 12 months old. I work in healthcare so can be full on when I’m at work.

I'm wondering about what to request part time hours wise

Im looking at 3 days a week 830-6 or I can do shorter days 830-430.
Although not many more hours it adds up over the month but I’m wondering if I’ll be too tired and it will be taking on too much?

DS currently 5 months old and waking twice a night mostly so the thought of working is making me anxious!
We would be fine childcare wise with either option and we would be financially ok with less hours but just less “fun money”

Any advise appreciated!

I'd do the longer hours, if your partner is able to do the pick ups from childcare.

You won't exactly get 'lovely, fun times' with the dc after you've travelled home from work finishing at 4.30.
I am presuming you are used to doing longer shifts, and get more days off, because of the longer shifts ?
