How long should a break be if you work for 6 hours?

If you work over 6 hours you're entitled to 1 break of at least 20 minutes

Does that include working for 6 hours? Is it 6 hours and over?

Personally, if I worked up to 6 hours (ie 5hrs59mins) anywhere and wasn’t given a brief break, I’d look for a different job.

Any less than that is purely a courtesy.

The break doesn't have to be paid. So if I was working 6 hours I'd get them done and then take the "break" from 6hrs to 6hrs 20mins while I travelled home!

If you work 6hrs 30mins then you'd have to take a 20 min unpaid break in that, meaning you are at work for 6hrs 50mins ....

Or you’d still be at work for 6hrs 30mins but actually working for 6hrs 10mins.

The law specifically says that it cannot be taken at the start or end of the day.

I work 6 hrs per day. I take a 10 min break each day. This is not an official break and I am paid for it. I am not entitled to it but am given it as a little courtesy. If I worked over 6 hours I would have to take an unpaid 20 min break, regardless of how much over the 6 hrs I worked, eg 1/2 hr or 3 hrs more.
