I want to earn more money - what should I do?

Hello
I’m mid 40s. Work in charity sector in a mid/sen management role. Next step up would be director or dept director.
Early career was in retail banking but for the last 25 year have been in management of comms/advocacy/campaign roles and more recently in change management and strategic development. I really enjoy media parts of the jobs I’ve done and also seem to have a knack for stakeholder engagement and people management. No quals other than degree but some fairly decent and interesting global campaigns behind me.
I mainly WFH with some international travel but irregularly.
I want to get on and get up.
Where should I look for my next career move? Anyone made a leap from charity to higher paying sectors.
I see I have a good 15 years ahead of me where I can really get on and right now making some good pension contributions and increasing our household income is a big motivator.
All advice welcome and thank you.

I’d look at local authority or NHS. At that level in charity you should be going in at head of level in LA which is about £75k or 8b ish in NHS which is about 70-80k.

I'd return to Banking. The salaries are decent and the benefits are so good!

I think most sectors would give you more money and better conditions than the charity sector.

Like you I am at senior manager/head of team level in similar roles and I have had enough of working for charities...

Lots of exploitation but lack of career progression or decent wages.

Maybe a social impact role in finance/banking?
