At work the finance team receive bills from suppliers. They redistribute and then ask other teams to confirm the details are correct. Last week I confirmed the details were correct via email and if they could upload to the finance system I would code up and send to the manager for approval.
Today at 12.33pm I got an email asking if I could urgently code the bills and send for approval. I had lunch and then came into the office which this colleague saw me and at 1.05pm sent me a Microsfot Teams message confirming the same thing. I coded up and sent for appoval by 1.20pm and emailed back to confirm it had been done.
My manager emails 10 minutes later saying this woman has asked if it could be done today. I sent him emails and screenshots and said I was very quick and actioned within 50 minutes. This was very quick considering I was not available due to lunch. I said I don't understand why they are sending multiple messages to myself and then telling my manager as it was already agreed last week I would do it. He claims she rang him this morning before the she emailed me. Why run to the manager unless there is a problem.
The manager comes to her defence saying she just wants to get it done. I told my manager last week in my 1-1 the finance team are extremely pushy, he said he would speak up in the managers meeting as he had experienced the same thing. My team members have said the manager expects them to drop everything to please others.
I don't want to set a precedent of actioning things straight away after being threatened by email. I don't like this woman and feels she crosses boundaries and not respecting I am extremely busy. I feel like blocking her on Microsoft Teams. I feel it is a form of bullying messaging someone through various communications without being given reasonable time to do it.
I am not pushy at work so have not done anything to provoke this woman. She has been promoted in her team so the power seems to have gone to her head.
