I’m stuck. Help me…

I have a 4 and 6 year old. I want to return to work. I’d previously been successful in the corporate world. Since having children, I haven’t really worked but I want to start earning again - hubbys money only goes so far.

I’ve got the opportunity to be teaching support in my sons school. Great that I have holidays with them, no out of school care needed. But money rubbish and is it healthy for their development to have mummy in school?

or I return to my “career”. Part time is hard to find. So it’ll be pretty much full time. No holidays together. But I’ll have the money for childcare. I’ll have more independence and they’ll learn about mummies working and not relying on daddy.

I enjoy both jobs equally… but for different reasons.

How do I decide? I am literally stuck. I cannot find a way to work out what’s right. So thought there might be some pearls of wisdom here!!! PLEASE!!!!

Return to your career. Sounds like progression is available, pension would be better. I wouldn't work in schools right now for anything either.

Could you take the job at the school while you look for work in your career? It might take some time to get a job in that field based on what the market seems to be like right now, so that could give you a chance to see how you feel about the school role? Ultimately only you can decide which is right for you so that could be a compromise?
