Request to change hours - what would you do?

Hi all,
I’m current on mat leave due to return to work in September. In April I submitted a requested to reduce my hours to 0.6/3 days a week. I should have received a response a few weeks ago (in accordance with ACAS guidance) but I’ve been told HR are still considering it.
My manager has emailed me to say they have provisionally agreed it but are waiting for HR to officially confirm/sign it off.

Im willing to be patient to an extent but I was planning on using up my accrued holiday days before I come back in September. To do this I’ll need to give 8 weeks notice in advance, which i would need to do this week. (if that makes sense!)
My manager has said HR are willing to be flexible with the 8 week thing, as I’ve explained if my request has been denied I’ll need to use my leave differently.
what would you do? Should I keep badgering them? I’ve contacted ACAS who have said as long as I consent to the delay to put up with it, if it means I’ll get my request approved in the end.
thank you for reading.

This is what I would do, especially as they've said it's provisionally agreed and they've said they will be flexible with the 8 weeks to allow you to arrange things as you need them.

@atticstage thank you, yes that’s what I’m thinking as well. As long as it gets agreed in the end I’m not too bothered, it’s just the delays for no apparent reason! I don’t want it to put a downer on the remainder of my mat leave
