Recommended Union that takes scientists?

Hi All,

This year has been pretty eventful and eye opening due to bullying at work leading me to leave my very much loved role to start again somewhere else.

I’m a scientist and I’m looking for recommendations for a good union. It doesn’t have to be science sector- specific- just a good one that would take scientists.

I’ve dealt with events this year but not without my confidence being chipped away. I want to make the new start knowing I have support in case anything goes wrong.

Prospect, Unite, GMB, or UCU.

I think it depends on your exact job role which union would be the most relevant to you. It can also depend on which union(s) your workplace recognises if any.

I'm a scientist and currently a member of Unite.

Unite - look at its history - it represents scientists and technical staff.

Thanks both! Has anyone experience of any of this and can recommend them?
