Tell interviewer I have flu?

Hi all
I attended an interview yesterday morning. I've had a cough/ sore throat over the last few days, but not bad enough to cancel the interview. Prior to the interview I did a pcr test for Covid/rsv/flu a &b which was negative. I let the interviewer know I had a cough but had tested and all negative and we continued the interview.
Anyway, 10 hours later I'm going rapidly downhill and re-test, and I'm positive for influenza A.
Question is, do I email the interviewer and let them know? Not sure whether it's helpful as there's nothing they can do about it now. I'm wavering between - it looks professional to let them know as a courtesy - or - they'll think I'm unprofessional for not canceling the interview in the first place.
What's your view? Would you want to know if you were the interviewer?

No

How did you get a test for flu? I didn't know that was even possible?

TeachesOfPeaches · 20/06/2024 08:42

No you do not need to let the interviewer know

When I was buying Flowflex LFTs a while ago, I noticed the company have a rapid test kit for influenza type A/B, which I was surprised to see.

No. That would be odd.

HemmAyes · 20/06/2024 09:21

No you would only tell them if you had a notifiable communicable disease.
Otherwise you run the risk they think you're some who's obsessed by illness.

Gosh no, would come across as very strange.

Thanks all, clearly unanimous not to say anything. The test was a combined LFT which tests for multiple infections. Am in Australia but assume same is available in UK?
