NHS Band 4 Interview

Looking for some help please. I have an NHS Band 4 interview next week. I meet all the essential criteria and a few desirables. It's within a speciality I have never worked before so whilst I think I am capable of doing the role (20 years experience at Band 2/3 level in other roles) I am feeling out of my depth.

On paper I am very good at highlighting my skills but put me in a scenario based interview session to work in a field I have no specific experience in I am going to freeze. I get immensely anxious at interviews.

Should I withdraw my application? If not, can anyone provide any help?

Don’t withdraw your application, I was a band 3, went to band 4 and the left for private health care and now due to start back as a band 3.

take time to think about and write down what skills you have already and how they can be adapted for the band 4 role. Do some research about the field you’ve applied for and go over the job spec etc.

you’ve got 20 years of experience not just in that role but working with in the NHS which becomes second nature. Take time to pick it all apart and focus on what you do daily.

you can do this 😌 be kind to your self
