Below market rate

Applied for job (not desperate, just seemed like a great opportunity). The advertised salary (actually rare to see these days) was pretty much equal to my current salary and the role description was pretty broad.

Invited to interview and received the full job description. Job still looks great but the responsibility uplift is significant. The advertised salary is significantly below market rate (which is transparent in my field). Do I pull out now because I absolutely would not accept the salary for this role and don't want to waste any time. Do I tell them I'm interested but the salary is way too low in light of full view of the responsibilities? Wait to see if I'm offered it? Worried that if I did the latter they would tell me that the salary was clearly stated.

As you're not desperate, it's best to pull out now and give salary as reason for doing so. Why waste time prepping for an interview that won't lead anywhere?

Yes that's my thinking but disappointing as role could be great. Guess nothing is ever perfect!
