Working from home

I have been working from home now for just over 3 years. I pop to the office occasionally (prob about 10 times in those 3 years). I could not imagine working full time in an office again , I assume if I had to I could. Anyone else feel the same? Do you think home working will remain long term?

I hope so. It was a long time coming. Hybrid working is the way to go

I’m opposite. Worked at home for 20 years. Now I work full time in a shared office. It’s revolutionised my attitude to work. Everyone is different.

My company did away with it's office completely so we are all WFH and live all over the country. It seems to work well.

I would be reluctant to ever take on an office role again, but mainly because I've moved to somewhere remote with few jobs. If I lived in London then I would consider office based work.

It does look like some places are trying to bring people back in part of the week like civil service and I know of some corporate IT guys near me having to go in twice a week.

However our local council sold off their offices after covid.... So can't see that one going back!

I work in a people facing role and I'm wondering if I'd like the switch (exploring other jobs at the moment) or if I'd miss people.

I get to do a hybrid week. Before the pandemic I didn't realise the impact working at the office had on me. Why would I? I had nothing to compare or with. Quite early on in the pandemic I realised I felt a deep, deep calm as a result of wfh and not commuting. The benefit to my wellbeing is priceless. I presume my work will return to full office based work at some point in the future but I'll be gone by then!

I think I'm also likely autistic and although I do like my job and am good at it it is exhausting. Changing to wfh might well suit me more but also the jumping into the unknowm/new role and likely pay cut is also scary!
