I have been a foster carer 18 years now and it has truly been amazing. The children are lovely and it means I can be at home with the kids doing side projects and don't need to worry about a single persons wage. I have been though a few agency's and none were very supportive when I needed them the most for various reasons. I now have an incredible agency that is run by a woman who was in care herself so understands the support and help I want to be offering the children. It is so important to me that they get the help they need while with me because if they don't what is the point.
My issue is the funding available for these children and what can I do to get the authorities to listen when they need something? It's always down to funding and there isn't any. We used to use a lot of charities but a lot are now closed down due to lack of funding. Where are other people going for support now?
