I’ve worked as a TA at my school for 5 years - interested in opinions on contracted hours and time you actually leave
currently our school has staggered finish times across year groups 3 - 3.15
TA hours are 8.30 - 3.15
If you work in an older year group or have a gate duty at the end of the day it is impossible to leave at 3.15 - you don’t finish your duties (dismissing children etc) until at least 3.25 then after that tidy classroom/admin etc.
Obviously it is personal choice if you choose to stay later to help but wondered if it is common practice to have tasks that take you beyond your contracted hours every day
Not sure if I am being petty (i usually stay later
most days) but on very low wages it seems a little unfair…?
