I am considering reducing my hours a bit. Has anyone done this? Any issues apart from less money

Make sure you get work taken off you and they don’t just expect you to do 10 days work in 9 days. Its fine if you do work in something like retail or in a restaurant where a days work is a days work, but if you are, for example, a social worker, then your case load needs to be reduced by a 10th, or if you are a lecturer, make sure you don’t get the same number of teaching and marking hours as a full timer.

My friend LOVES it.

Doesn't need to be less money if you work 7 hour days - 70 hours divided into 9 days is quite manageable (7.8 hrs/day). Having a full day off makes the slightly longer days worth it

I know 2 people who do this but they are still full-time. They work an extra 45 mins a day for 9 days and have 10th day off.
Both really like it

Thank you. Just realised there are 2 ways of doing this. At the moment it won’t work due to the many clients I have but my work is due to reduce in the next few months. I worked part time for many years so not sure about loosing more money but would be great to have that day off

I do 10 days in 9 so an extra 45 minutes a day. I don’t enjoy the longer work days but I do very much enjoy my day off
