I’m having some issues with my line manager. Basically since I was hired, our company got a massive contract with a very tight deadline and I have been working on it on top of the old contract which is starting to wind down. It’s a huge amount of work and I have asked for assistance several times but each time I got back ‘well XXXX used to do it and I don’t know why you can’t’ even though every time I reminded him of the new workload.
I basically had a bollocking today over something incredibly minor. I have a feeling he’s been feeling like I’m being performance managed for a bit so I’m not surprised this is coming, but surprised it’s over something so minor. He’s been massively micro managing me and cutting me out of conversations and still expect me to read his mind without being briefed on things.
I know I need to speak to HR about his behaviour and honestly, if he’s not happy with my performance I’d rather have HR there to tell me how I can do better in a structured way rather than his passive aggressive condescending way. I spoke to my assistant manager and it sounds like I’m not the only one in the team feeling this way.
I’ve never had to use HR at all in my 20 year career. Just want to get some mumsnet advice on what kind of help I should be expecting/ can be asking HR for please?
I am actively looking for other jobs but I am so stressed that I’m breaking out in rash and I know even if I get a job tomorrow (which I won’t) I still have a two month notice period. So I need to resolve this ASAP really. Any help would be greatly appreciated
