Hello,

I have never ever been signed off sick in my life but have been constantly to signed off since March this year from my workplace due to chronic pain and mental health. Awaiting a work capability assessment from UC. Anyways my question is I am a single parents and it's half term (I work in a school anyways). If i was to go out with my children for the day tomorrow to a local ice cream parlour and for them to play in the meadow would this be cause for them to try and dismiss me. Especially if we were to bump into someone from
The school there. What are the rules surrounding this. I also have a holiday booked to Greece in August what happens then?
My sick note runs out in July the day we break up, and I'm unsure whether doctor will sign me back off again or what will happen.

I dont think you could be found at fault for taking your children out for an ice cream.
Regards the trip in August wouldn't that fall in the school holidays anyway? Or do you work in the holidays. I sort of feel that if you are off work with chronic pain then a trip to Greece is going to be difficult?

I was a teacher, signed off with MH issues and stress in 2013. I went to Lanzarote to visit DH’s family who’ve all emigrated there. Not only was I allowed, my GP positively encouraged it.

There’s no reason you can’t take a holiday even if you’ve been signed off.

@Onesipmore
Holiday was already paid before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and ME, so trying to make the best of the situation as don't want to let me kids down. It is all inclusive; water park in the hotel so I will just pace myself. We get special assistance at the airport anyways for my son so I will take my time and hopefully by then will know my limits and also can try and control some of the pain
