One decent reference one basic factual one.

So I was excited to start my new job.
All good vibes and they loved my work.
I'm on probation and references were sought.
One is from a long time colleague who became my boss.
A glowing one apparently.
The other from my last place is factual.
Dates position title and stating the company holds no responsibility for anyone's aptitude or ability to perform another role.
I hated it there and was treated poorly and raised a concern.
I was however very reliable.
Will this basic one spoil my good one?.

No one could say for sure, but I highly doubt it - that type of reference is the norm these days.

Why on earth would it? Every business I've worked for in the past 10+ years has had a policy to provide only basic references. Never stopped me getting a job.

Doubting myself as I treated poorly.
It looks basic by omission.
Thank you both.
