Any Secondary school cleaners in Surrey

I am considering looking for a job cleaning and wondering if there are any secondary school cleaners who could answer a couple of questions for me.

What hours you work? Do you only work term time or are you expected to go in over half term / holiday? If so, what hours do you work?

Normally school cleaners, or some private schools call them domestics, are expected to work mon- fri after the school day finishes - so around 3/3.30 pm through to 6pm, although finish time varies from school to school. Might be earlier or a later finish.
Generally clean downs / clean ups are also expected, on average this is an additional 7 days per year, usually during the summer holidays. This might be full or part days.

This is only a rough guide, different schools, cleaning companies, even council areas expect different slightly different commitments from their cleaners.

edit to add . Look on your preferred council or school job site and the full job description should be there. Same for agency/ company cleaners who clean schools.

In my academy chain we have morning and evening cleaners and a couple who work until 2pm.

Not a huge amount of holiday working.

Schools can struggle to recruit so will try and fit jobs around what candidates can offer

In my school the cleaners work 3-6pm daily. In the holidays they do one or two days 'deep cleaning'
