Odd question maybe. If I hand my notice in on Monday and a reference is requested on Tuesday, will they just say I currently work here or that my last day will be xxx date in the future?
I have been offered a new role verbally and am on one months notice and new role really keen for me to start. If I said I was on three months notice (take two months off unpaid but really could do with some free time to myself), would they know?!
I guess best answer would be to agree a later start date but worry they they won’t wait that long unless I said my hands are tied.
