Would this put you off applying?

For various reasons I'm looking for a new job. Saw a job advertised today that looked interesting so started researching the organisation and found the person currently doing the job. Having looked at their profile on LinkedIn, they've been in the post for barely six months. Would this ring alarm bells for you that they are leaving the organisation after such a short space of time? It's a director level role.

Could they be being promoted?

It would make me cautious, but it wouldn’t put me off applying.

She may be leaving for reasons that are unrelated to the role. I would apply, and decide after interview if I got that far. The interview should be an opportunity to get a feel for the business and whether it suits you, it’s not just for them to decide if you’re right for the role.

I'd want to understand this further for sure. I wouldn't not apply as a result, but I would ask ask some questions.

I’d still apply but ask the question, it might be they’re being promoted?

Maybe they are temping until they recruit, or maybe they need two in the team.

I'd apply and ask questions in the interview although I would also be cautious.
