Recruitment Process

Hello

Does anyone know if I can anonymously ask for a recruitment process to be reviewed at work? The recruiting line manager and interviewee are best friends and go on holiday together frequently including this summer. I also have heard, but don't know if it's factually correct, that this person also conducted the interview. If this is correct, Should this not have been an impartial interview panel?

Also, someone returning from mat leave the same month as the interviews were held, was not informed of the vacancy despite it being one level above her current post and a suitable opportunity to at least have had a fair chance to interview for a promotion. Should this person have been notified?

I am not interested in the role that was advertised but the interviewing manager has already done the same thing with the post advertised before this one and hired another friend. I'm just feeling like this is a reflection that I will never get a fair crack at being promoted.

All advice welcome
Thanks

It does sound potentially biased, at my work we always have to have two people interview for a position so you’ve got a balanced view and independent scoring.

I’m not sure about the notification of a role to someone on mat leave, do you have a HR policy you could check?

@Changingplace yeah I think I will look into it in more detail. Thank you
