How long after closing date do you hear from the civil service?

I know there's probably no set answer to this, but closing date was Sunday gone and no news yet. Possible interview dates weren't mentioned in the advertisement.

Just wondering. I spent a whole weekend on the application form, cross-referencing the strengths and behaviours, giving STAR examples, so I'm really hoping to get shortlisted.

It took them at least a month to get back to me with an interview date.

Dear me! Good to know though thanks. No possible interview dates on the application did make me think there might be a bit of a wait.

It could be a while, I heard back between 2 - 6 wks with mine. Expect delays at the moment due to all the ‘cutting headcount’ palava.

They’ll have to go through a sift process first where every application is reviewed by a panel and scored - only once this is done will interviews be arranged and it can take several weeks

It was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly, but it was long enough that I'd interviewed for, got and started a new job after giving notice on previous job.

Pretty much everything runs slow in the civil service, so don't panic!
