Recruiters?

Job search not going well. In a tough market, recruiters are picky but as far as I can see their elusive requirements differ from any other time I have been looking. You can match a job description but still get nowhere.

Can anyone give some pointers of what they are looking for or even what puts them off?

It's a very very difficult market at the moment and it's not usually the recruiters fault, it's the clients that are being picky as they don't want to pay the agency fees without being 200% certain with the placement. Plus the client side themselves are probably understaffed so don't want to just interview anyone so are picky on who they choose spend their limited time seeing.

What kind of roles/industry are you look for as this can change perceptions of what's good or not.
