Job offer red flags?

I was verbally offered a job last week and was told I would receive an email confirming this verbal offer. Didn't hear anything until today which is days later and all the details in the email were incorrect than what was communicated to me and it is a very short contract that could possibly lead to a permanent position but not guaranteed.

Some things that were also said in the conversation has led me to believe there are problems at this new workplace. I am trying to leave my somewhat toxic workplace but am worried I am potentially walking in to somewhere worse than what is my current situation.

I am really not sure what to do and need to respond fairly quickly. Any advice?

yes it is a red flag. You can always negotiate a contract. If you are desperate to leave go back and counter offer but be on the look out for other roles too.

I wouldn’t want to leave a permanent job for a temp contract so I would refuse on those grounds. They can promise anything but unless it’s in the contract they aren’t obliged to follow through on it.

Go with your gut instinct, especially if it's only a short contract

This is my feeling exactly
