Small or larger company, which is best?

I'm applying for as many jobs as I can (admin type roles) and I'm very happy to be invited to interview for a few.
I was offered a job last week which I turned down as it turned out I would be working by myself in a rented room in our local town.
I have been for another interview where the job itself I would love and it is round the corner from my home so really convenient, but again a very small business.
There are currently 2 staff members but the owner is out a lot. So that would leave me and one other girl by ourselves all the time.
I've got two other interviews this week, one in the office of a large engineering company and one as a department receptionist in our very large hospital.

The jobs I have always done have been in offices of about 200 people. I've been off work as a sahm for 10 years and want to go back now, particularly for the social aspect. I want to make the right decision.

Would I regret choosing such a small company ? And also what about their benefits package etc ? They've not told me yet. Holidays, sick pay , etc , do you still get the same entitlements for a small business?

I prefer large companies, but if you have been out for 10 years then I’d accept what you get and you can then move a year or two later.

I prefer large businesses. DH prefers small.
2 staff members sounds very, very small indeed, with very little resilience to staff sickness, holidays etc

Large one every time. More chance you'll find your tribe.
I also think you're much more at the mercy of a good boss in a small company as there's no tiers of management and HR to keep an eye on things being done properly

I'm in work currently in a large business but want to try something different

For admin roles look carefully at the interviewer / your boss and manager rather than size.

all other things being equal in the role type I’d go big company.

I've been back at work for 6 months in a large office billing dept.
But want to move somewhere different now to build a career
