Feel like a terrible person

Hi, I work for a small department in a large college.

There is myself my colleague and my boss. That is it.

My boss does absolutely nothing the bare minimum. I have worked there for 7 months. And he has gradually put more and more work on my while he does naff all.

If something goes wrong he blames me even tho it's his responsibility and I remind him.

A few month ago his boss came to me and said don't let him put all work on you. So I noticed he was an issue.

Any way last month or so he is doing nothing pretends to be at meetings and just gossips with others.

My colleague complained a couple of weeks ago to his boss. She has now being supporting us. And now there is structure and we no what we are doing.

He has took the P out of me all day. Sending me on all his meetings giving me more work even tho he knows I'm up to my eye balls.

Tonight his boss came to me and said is every thing ok and I vented. She said he was in a meeting next week and will be taken further.

I think he's going to be let go of. Now I feel terrible 😣

That sounds a really tricky environment. 😒 you aren’t responsible for your boss’ behaviour or how his boss manages that situation. You are responsible for speaking up when things impact your ability to do a good job. Could you be making any assumptions? For example could the meeting be a warning rather than a dismissal? Hope that helps!

It's not that easy to dismiss people from public sector jobs, there's a process. He will have opportunities to redeem himself. This certainly isn't your fault OP.

Just keep your head down and focus on what you're doing.
