Help with a pro-rata salary?!

PeachyGreen95 · 24/04/2024 19:24

Based on a £45000 pro-rata salary:

Monday – 8.00 – 4.15pm
Wednesday – 8.30 – 6.00pm
Thursday – 8.00 – 4.15pm
Friday – 8.30 – 6.00pm

I’ve worked this out to total around £37,600 per annum. Is this correct?

PeachyGreen95 · 24/04/2024 19:25

What's full time hours a week and what hours are you planning on working? It really depends on lunch break time etc

? That doesn’t make sense.

how many hours is full time.

how much time do you get for lunch ? Assume that lunch is unpaid

sarahc336 · 24/04/2024 19:27

I work part time and like this calculator

LIZS · 24/04/2024 19:27

Is lunch unpaid though? So do you assume 9-5:30 to be 8.5

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 24/04/2024 19:27

So its normally 42.5hrs to be paid £45k, does that include lunch break?

I've presumed 30min lunch break, on the hours you've put which total 33, is that right?

FrothyCothy · 24/04/2024 19:29

If OP says 8.5 is a “normal” day I’d assumed it’s 37.5 hours a week - 7.5 a day with an hour for lunch?

FrothyCothy · 24/04/2024 19:34

I think I’ve calculated your hours as 31.5? In which case your calculation looks about right before deductions.

Full time hours were 8.30am - 6pm, Monday - Friday with a 1 hr lunch break

9.5 - 1 hr lunch = 8.5 x 5 = 42.5 FT
2 x 8.25 - 1 hr lunch = 14.5
2 x 9.5 - 1 hr lunch = 17 (+14.5) = 31.5
45000 / 42.5 x 31.5 = £33352

PenguinLove1 · 24/04/2024 19:45

You are working 31.5 hours of a 42.5 contract which makes you a 0.74 FTE, your salary should be £33352

PeachyGreen95 · 24/04/2024 19:50

Thank you! How did I get it so wrong? Maths isn’t my strong point .
