I hope you don't mind me saying this, I have no one I can tell in real life. But I got the call today that I got the job I've been wanting.

It's technically a pay cut and a step back, but there is no travel involved (current job wanted me away from home six days a week) and it's only half an hour down the road. Less stress. Less driving. Less travel. Less expenditure.

I can start in four weeks. I'm so excited, it's like a weight has been lifted.

That's fabulous. Twenty years ago I did similar. Still with that employer. I've moved around a bit, but still there. Never had a moments regret.

Thanks for the love and positivity. I've just told DP and he is absolutely thrilled and before I could mention anything told me to stop even thinking about the pay cut. He's got that covered, then asked me and DS to move in with him!

What kind of job wants you away from home 6 days a week every week?!

You can't possibly have a partner, family or any remote chance of any life at all!

It means, excluding holidays, you'll only be home for 48 days per year!

Even people stationed overseas in the armed forces come home for more time than that!!
