Teachers advice please

I'm in ECT 1 and I'm thinking of leaving teaching for 5ish years or so without having finished my ECT 2.

I'm a mum to a young son (pregnant during training) and the mum guilt is eating at me everyday. I just want to be at home with him and considering another, which is why I want 5 years off to raise them both. Financially I can afford not to work right now but are simply doing so to finish my ECT.

I already work PT and it's not sustainable for my family so thinking of leaving for 5 years.

How would this impact me when I attempt to go back?

Also, I have heard that it is at the discretion of the school/training board to sign you off early. You can effectively be signed off as having completed your ECT training early. Is this true? I have been told by my mentor and ECT manager that I don't teach like an ECT, I'm very able and have they have no concerns with me, so I'm wondering if this MAY be an option to be signed as completed about 1.5 years in of the 2 ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I just want to be at home with my baby(ies) 🥹
