Work laptop crashes 10+ times a day

I recently started a new job, and I use a lot of Adobe in my role (just writing comments and highlighting PDF documents that tend to be less than 20 pages long. I tend to have 2 PDF documents open at once. I close down everything else in the background.

My Adobe has been crashing at least once per hour since I started; I've started saving down files off of the server and onto my computer to see if that helps and it has reduced the frequency of the amount of times Adobe crashes, but it's still happening. I'm saving as often as I remember, but I'm still losing work and having to redo things.

I've spoke to my manager and he said it happens with other members of the team, and it's 'just one of those things'.

Does anyone else get this happen too? It never happened in my previous job, and I would have lots of things open at once.

Does your workplace have an IT department? Have you asked your colleagues if it really is happening this frequently to them too.

It’s a recent adobe thing for some reason, but a half decent IT department should be able to fix it. I had the same issue start a month or so ago but it was quickly fixed. I don’t know how…I imagine an update of some sort?

Have you or your colleagues actually reported it to IT if you have an IT department?

I worked in a place once where everyone moaned about IT problems and had all of these work arounds, but it turned out no one had ever actually reported them to the IT service desk and once reported a lot of them were actually easily fixed

I had this with a branded laptop. The whole thing would restart. Not related to any software. Even the engineer who travelled on site who worked for the brand (was in warranty) could not fix it and it had to be replaced. Very frustrating.
