Working with a child

Hi all,

My son starts primary school in September, and my long distance husband has just been approved for his Visa so he will be here this Sunday to live with us. He will obviously be looking for work.

I've just been offered a new job with my mum & sister, which is higher pay and better hours (I can choose when I start and finish). I work in a school currently, but its full time so I still work holidays, which is fine while my son is in nursery because I pay for the holiday sessions.

My worry is when my husband has a job, we'll both be working full time. What do we do when its half term? We will be looking for staggered times for our job, e.g. I start early, finish early and he starts later and finishes later so he can drop off, I can pick up. My son is only 4 so I would feel bad putting him in clubs all day in the holidays 😭

Thank you

I mean this more kindly then it sounds but you do what lots of other people do and use clubs like you've said or family. Lots of people work full time including single parents- it's just the way it is.

You use your annual leave like everyone else!

We can cover 11-12 weeks of the 14 school hols with our holiday then we will have 2-3 weeks of clubs.
