Temp contract:Mon-Fri
12 weeks of work
27 hours per week
Minimum wage
Childcare costs £970

Total take home salary after childcare deducted: £4,200

Roughly £350 a week.

Is this worth it???

It depends - do you have any other income in the family? Will you gain useful experience for your CV? There are other factors besides money.

(I probably would just now, because I've been out of work for 14 months.)

Will you lose benefits? Is the childcare reliable? What are the prospects of this job? Is minimum wage actually fair for the work you'll be doing? Imo minimum wage temp contracts are the preserve of scum employers - if you can't offer job security, you should be paying a premium.

I'm not on benefits.

Amazing experience.

Husband earns well.

I'm still deciding. I guess I feel I'm worth more than minimum wage as I have a lot of experience in my field. Education.

If it's an amazing experience & you have decent childcare, why would you not? It's a fixed period & good on your CV at this stage of 'returning to work' (or whatever).

Why would I not...? Good question. I'm going to go for it. The experience at the school will be a privilege. Thank you for helping.
