Back to work tomorrow. I'm so disorganised - help me to make a list of things to take/do to make it easier.

So far I have an empty box with a mug and a box of paracetamol in it.

I'm never going to manage it unless I'm really organised. I know I have to get the DCs stuff ready for nursery but other than that my brain just isn't working and I know I'll be running around tomorrow at 7 in the morning in a mad panic.

Help.

Tonight:

pack all bags and put in hallway
clothes out - yours and DCs
shoes out
breakfast bowls etc ready and out
packed lunches done and in fridge
change for car park/train tickets all sorted
do you know where your keys are (i never do )

Tomorrow:

get up 15 mins earlier than you think you need to!

and it won't be as bad as you think!

Agree with everything Ruby Slippers said.

Do you have a security pass for your work? Find it now, put in bag with train ticket/tube pass etc.

Add "relax" to your list of things to do tonight. It's only work, you'll get into the swing of it quickly enough. Give yourself time to make sure the DCs are happy at nursery and your day will be fine.

Have a mental/physical list of what needs to be in your hands as you go out the door (when I went back to work it was: handbag, lunch bag, pump bag, nursery bag), so that you can recite it every morning.

Go through your handbag and add tissues, lippy, dry cleaning wipes (for when someone wipes snot onto your skirt), and emergency hairclips etc.

If you drive, wear a fleece/cardigan over your work clothes until you have dropped the DCs off so that you don't end up with snotty mummy shoulder. Also a good idea not to put trousers/skirt on until after DCs have had breakfast and are washed so that you don't end up cereal encrusted.

Plan something to mark your first day back at work, even if it's only buying a nice coffee and croissant on the way in. Or you could pop out for lunch somewhere nice

This is all really helpful. Am feeling slightly calmer!
