My boss has had a heart attack

Over the past few months my brilliant boss had absolutely loads of extra work piled onto him due to other people's incompetence. He had confided in me several times how stressed out he was feeling and that he didn't think he could manage everything that was being asked of him. At the same time he was passed over for a promotion in favour of someone who is way less qualified and experienced.

He's in his mid 50s, very physically fit, slim, no risk factors that I know of. He was usually so laid back but hadn't been himself the past few months.

I don't know why I'm posting, really. I'm just in shock. I had been expecting him to go off with stress but not this.

I'm so sorry, what an awful thing to happen. I hope he's ok

Poor man, I know my DH was really affected by stress at work, and he was having heart issues at the same time. It's not a good combination.

Send flowers, card or offer of support to him while he recovers, or to his family. I hope some of his work is not down-loaded to you, and I hope he has support of his management.

I bet you are in shock! Your poor thing and what an awful thing to happen!! I really hope that his employer is held accountable and he done the right thing to speak out and although not easy considering the current circumstances. he done the right thing in confiding in you. I really hope HR know the full circumstances.
