It's probs a 40hr week with 30 mins unpaid lunch each day. If it's nhs it's def this

BlackandGold · 07/04/2024 20:58

No; it never did where I worked.

FrothyCothy · 07/04/2024 20:59

9-5 with 30 mins for lunch, usually, with the 30 mins being unpaid.

WeeMoose · 07/04/2024 20:59

It would usually mean 7.5 working hours a day and one hour unpaid break.

CreateYourOwnUsername · 07/04/2024 21:00

As pps have said, ime it means 37.5 hours a week plus 30 mins break a day giving you a 40 hour week.

hellothere247 · 07/04/2024 21:00

You would need to check your contract but probably not. Mine is 9-5.30 with an hours unpaid lunch.

effoffwind · 07/04/2024 21:00

I agree as above
However in Scotland they are reducing hrs soon under NHS guidelines

I currently work 40 hrs , paid 37.5
30 minute lunch break

Hollyhead · 07/04/2024 21:00

Where I’ve worked it would be 7.5 hours with 1/2 hour or hour lunch so 8 or 8.5 hour days.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 07/04/2024 21:01

In my post it’s 8.30-4.30 with a 15 minute paid break and 30 minutes unpaid for lunch.

Viewfrommyhouse · 07/04/2024 21:03

No. At my employers, it's 8.30am to 5pm - paid for 7.5hrs, an hour is given for lunch unpaid.

Starlightstarbright3 · 07/04/2024 21:05

It won’t include break depending on employer it is usually 30 minutes or 60 . This is unpaid

Singleandproud · 07/04/2024 21:06

I work 37 hours, we are expected to have 2 x 15 minute paid breaks (1xmorning and 1xafternoon) as screen breaks and then unpaid lunch which is Flexi so minimum of 30 mins up to 2 hours.

SmallFY · 07/04/2024 21:19

At my place that's what we're all on.

A full day with 30 mins unpaid lunch. X

Okay thank you. I’m due to receive my contract this week xx

I'm sure they won't mind if you just ask them if the contract is going to take a few days.

NewName24 · 07/04/2024 21:49

No, it is a standard 40 hour week with a 30min lunchbreak.

Of course there is lots more flexibility at work now, but that's where the (what at first glance seemingly odd ) figure comes from.

Chocolatelabradorsarethebest · 08/04/2024 11:03

For me a 37.5 hour week is 9-5.30 with 1 hour unpaid for lunch and has been in most of the jobs during my career.
