Better work life balance with baby working part time?

Due to go back after a year maternity leave in a couple months and I want to go back part time. Is it unreasonable to ask to come back to work for "only" 2 days? My mat leave cover will stay full time btw. How do I go about asking? I believe from this month there's a new law stating we don't have to say how it affects the business anymore. Would really appreciate some tips.

2 days is perfect in my opinion. I do 2 days one week and 3 days the next week (10 days a month) and I absolutely love the 2 day weeks. I can still bring my son to toddler groups and playdates during the week, we do activities outside of peek busy times and it's just a lovely work/life balance.
