Work

Boss starting to belittle me

I've been on my new job for 8 months. My boss is ok, but I've noticed he's started being a bit sneaky. Takes credit for all my work. ( although his boss knows this because she pulled me in office and told me not to let him take advantage of me with piling work on to me)

He makes a point of putting my role down because he's higher up now. Then noticed over last few weeks he belittles me in front of others. And if I say something I'm interested in he will put me down. Today he made fun of something I had told him in-front of a colleague.

He is extremely lazy and I've carried him for months. He keeps saying he can't get his own work done because he's picking up some of my work but that is simply not the case. It's because he is very lazy.

How do I handle this. I'm not the most forward of people and I tend to get walked over.

Go see his boss again and have a chat about your options. Are there any other jobs going elsewhere? Any other projects?

Ok, then let him get on with it.

There isn't a magic solution. You either start looking at your options or you put up. She might have some suggestions for you.

Yeah I know I'm looking for a new job. I just can't understand why he is doing it.

When this type of person is exists and is a known issue within a business, they are an issue but their manager who hadn't properly addressed the issue is a bigger issue.

Run red flag
