Pregnancy

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what to do if my school where I work states that once my sick note has run out I must state if I am returning back to work. However, my sick note runs out on the last day before the Easter break and I am suffering with hyperemsis in pregnancy so how will I know if I am okay after the Easter break? I don't know what to say to my employer?

And will I then need a note to cover me over Easter?

Thanks

Gabby

Your work will need to know if you are going to return after Easter. If you don’t feel well enough then you need to get another sick line that will cover you throughout the holidays and into the rest of the term.
If you decide to not extend your sickline over the holidays then your school will assume you are returning after the holidays.
In my local authority, pregnancy related illness doesn’t count but they still take not on the amount of sick leave taken so it might be best to read up on your pregnancy policy.

Sadly only you know how you’re feeling. Hyperemsis is awful and can last a while, however, it can clear up quite quickly.
