What should I do?

So I have worked at the same place now for a number of years, I am comfortable here and know what I have to do. It is low stress but boring... I have just been offered a new job elsewhere, the money is better, the hours are good and I will be trained up, the new skills would open a lot of doors for me! The job will most likely be more stressful and full on.

However I am feeling so so stressed thinking about the change, thinking about leaving what I know. I am well respected in my current job and have become friendly with a lot of people at work and the thought of starting again and becoming the newbie is frightening!

I really don't know what I should do!

My current job is very flexible around family commitments, appointments and when the kids have been off poorly. I worry that although the new place has to be flexible to a certain extent, I don't want to annoy them or mess them about.

In an ideal world, what would you want?

I'd take the new job.

Unless you're happy in the current one and don't want to move and get on. And nothing wrong with that.

@Blanket12 I think you should stay in your current job especially while the kids are young and at school. There's a lot to be said for a flexible, low stress job even if it's bit boring! Maybe when they're older and more independent then go for an exciting / better paid job so unless you really need the extra money now then stay put!

Another thing to consider is having nice colleagues / friends at work which you have already. Don't throw that away lightly. A good work life is about the whole package and not just monetary gain and promotion.
