Civil service capability interview same examples as on application?

I have a civil service interview later this week, grade 7, is it usual/acceptable/advisable to use the same examples I used in my application or should they be different?

It's fine to use the same examples just make sure there's a lot more depth and detail than on your application. Also make sure you have a back up example for each behaviour just in case your first one doesn't answer the question you're asked.

Good luck!

You can, but it depends on the question. Just because the competency is the same (I.e DAP) it doesn’t mean the question will fit well with the example you used in the application.

E.G - if your example for communicating and influencing in the application was about negotiating with someone…and the question in interview was about delivering a difficult message, then your original example wouldn’t work. Because on the interview Q they’d be looking for things like ‘performance management’ type things given it’s a G7 job.

Good luck, OP

I’d have bullet points ready with these examples and others.

It gets really frustrating when people are hellbent on reading a pre-prepared answer that doesn’t fit the question.

Thank you All. That's all really useful, I'll prepare some others but won't be afraid to use my application examples if they work.
