MOJ - Project Delivery Function

I’m about to start a new role in a few weeks in the PMO in the Project Delivery Function at Ministry of Justice. I know all will become clear when I start but I’m still quite unclear on the structure of the teams and what sorts of projects etc.

Does anyone have any experience of working within this directorate in MoJ? Or failing that of just working for MoJ in general and what it’s like?

thanks!

Bumping this for you. I don’t have experience of MOJ but do of PMO Project Delivery Functions in other departments.

You will do doing general project management. What grade is the role? Depending on your grade it could be anything from admin to overseeing delivery of a major piece of work

The projects and programmes will be significant projects being done in the department. It could be anything really from a major IT project, to relocating an entire office. There will be lots of forms and paperwork, keeping track of things and reporting on progress.

do you have project management training or qualifications? If not I’d ask about training courses once you start. There will be lots available through civil service learning you can do

good luck on the new job

Thanks for your reply and the bump!

that’s helpful. It’s an SEO grade - Head of PMO. I am currently a PMO Lead for another department for a team in DDaT, but the team works on IT asked projects and the PMO is only 3 of us - me and two EO’s and we just support the team as a whole and the PM’s work on multiple projects at a time.

I just wondered how it differed really, the interview made me think it’s more a one huge project at a time sort of thing. And I’ve no idea of the teams structure.

Oh an no PM qualifications but obviously have my previous PMO experience. Hoping to get some qualifications in this role. Was offered in my current role but all e-learning and that’s just something I can’t do and need in person training.
