Paying back OMP as a teacher

I'm due to return to work in a few months, however my employer isn't able to accommodate the reduced hours I'd ideally like. I've seen other jobs within education which are able to offer much more suitable part time hours. My question is, if I choose to not return to work, or work my 3 months, I know I have to pay back my OMP (12 weeks half pay). But how is this done? Do I have to give it all back straight away as one lump sum? Or can it be paid back gradually over months/ years? Is there interest attached to doing it like this?! I really don't have the funds after maternity to pay back a lump sum so am really torn at the moment! Advice will be appreciated all!

If you return within the same LA you don't pay it back as your employer is the same. This may be different for academies though.
