I work in a small department I and a hse advisor and he is the head of Hse. He's very braggy but is not great as his job.
My previous role I had more responsibilities than he does now but stepped down to change in career. Job wise I treat every one the same.
Today he was rambling on about moving aboard with his family and said even if I have to take a crappy advisor role. Laughed but he seen my face drop and he said I wasn't digging at you.
I have very low self esteem and trying not to let it get to me, he is very toxic always bragging about money and so on and realistically is probs only on about 10k more.
I handled it wrong and I just said oh it's ok, I really wish I'd of said something else but I'm not sure what is the best way of handling.
He really enjoys people being inferior to him I don't get it x
