Hello!

wanting to request to go 3 days a week in school after maternity but nervous to ask incase I can’t afford it.

does anyone happen to know what take home pay is a month on an upper pay scale 3 teacher? I do have TLR but without that is fine I just want a rough idea! Not in London 🙃 thanks!

Mine is an LEA school, so not sure if that had anything to do with my lack of success in challenging it. Like I said, I just accepted it as I knew it was a 2 year thing.

The concession I got was more PPA. Think the head felt guilty that he couldn’t action my request.

At least you got time! That’s practically gold dust in this profession anyway 😂

Fingers crossed you get to keep the full TLR on 0.8 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m USP3 and 0.6 and I think it’s about £1700 take home (no TLR).

@llineandsinker it's not a good or a big fight to simply make sure you are paid for the work you do. You don't have to make a song and dance about it.

I'm a 0.6 UPS3 teacher and take home £1805 (no student loan)

Pension is 7.4% when earning less than £32K (8.6% is the next contribution rate up)

I don't have a TLR now but have had a TLR on a PT contract - got paid the full amount. Currently have 3 TLR holders in our department who are PT and they get paid the full amount (they do 0.6 over 4 days, like me). Just over half of our department is part-time, and where the bulk of the experience is - very different from when I started teaching.

I have actually checked my pay slip now and my previous answer of £1700 isn’t quite right-it is £1805 as this poster stated.
